Grifeu Beach, located at kilometric point 15.5 on the Portbou road, has certain exceptional features that make it more than worthy of its Blue Flag.
The sand is very fine and of a golden hue. The natural clarity of the water is guaranteed by a highly efficient wastewater treatment plant. Grifeu Beach is 170 metres long and approximately 30 metres wide.
The active area is 420 square metres and the area for relaxation is 720 square metres. The average angle of inclination is 4%.
There are two public telephone boxes in the parking area.
Half-way down the beach there is a notice-board giving information about the quality and healthiness of the bathing water, which is updated on a weekly basis.
